Isaac and I, high school sweethearts, decided to tie the knot on our seventh anniversary, surrounded by loved ones. A dear friend went above and beyond to bring our special day together, handling every detail from the flowers to the photographer. I took it upon myself to create handfasting cords, imbuing them with a personal touch. In contrast to traditional white dresses, I fell in love with a stunning blue gown from Free People that made me feel like a goddess.

The pre-wedding preparations were a thoughtful gesture by the officiant, who conducted a smoke cleanse to purify the space before the ceremony began. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a serene atmosphere, with an altar adorned with a cloth, anointing oil featuring calming scents like lavender and rose quartz, and a handfasting cord symbolizing unity.

The officiant had crafted a personalized script for the ceremony, which began with these heartfelt words: ‘I haven’t known Carson and Isaac for long, but in the time I’ve spent with them, I’ve witnessed their deep affection for each other. It’s been my privilege to observe their journey as they navigate life’s challenges together, including the upcoming arrival of their child – a development that has me already preparing a thoughtful gift or two!

When I heard about their wedding just a week ago, I was initially apprehensive about being so intimately involved in this special moment. But standing here now, surrounded by their loved ones’ beaming faces, I’m honored to join Carson and Isaac in their union and celebrate their love.’

As we wrapped up our intimate ceremony, we decided to celebrate with a lively dinner outing at Olive Garden. While it may not have been the most upscale choice (we didn’t exactly care about impressing anyone), it was wonderful to share laughs and stories around one table as a quirky, yet lovingly assembled family unit.

In a bold move, we opted for an unconventional $500 library wedding that defied traditional expectations. With just seven guests in attendance, our celebration was intimate and stress-free. The modest budget allowed us to allocate resources elsewhere, ensuring the presence of our closest friends and family. Our decision proved wise, as we were able to relish every moment without a hint of anxiety.

The picturesque sunset backdrop on our 7th anniversary (a testament to our enduring high school romance) only added to the romantic ambiance. As we exchanged vows in a tranquil atmosphere, it was clear that our decision to keep things simple and low-key had paid off. With love radiating through the air, our $500 library wedding became an unforgettable experience.
