Get Ready To Light Up At This Disco Wedding With A Joint Bar

When our original wedding plans in Copenhagen were derailed, we had to adapt and pivot like many brides. We wanted an intimate celebration that would allow us to share this special moment with loved ones, but still maintain the grandeur of a traditional wedding. Our solution was to host an enchanting backyard ceremony, where we could bring our own personal touches to life.
Tell us about the disco wedding ceremony:
The ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking. Amidst the stunning backdrop of angel fountains, Roman columns, and a delicate babies breath arch, I walked down the aisle with my dad by my side. My mom, dressed in a sharp suit that truly stole the show, served as the officiant for our special day. Preceding me were my adorable dogs, who donned matching attire of white dresses and tuxedos, along with our sweet flower girl and ring bearer, both resplendent in their own little suits.
The absence of a traditional bridal party only added to the intimate atmosphere. I had the privilege of wearing a stunning Vera Wang gown that boasted a playful touch – the train read ‘I do’ and the veil whispered ‘love’. This show-stopping dress was originally purchased for our Copenhagen wedding, but it ended up being an even bigger hit than expected, thanks in part to its striking contrast with my sheer opera gloves.
Tell us about the disco wedding reception:
We transformed our garage into an iconic Studio 54-themed disco, complete with black and white checkered floors that perfectly captured the glamour of the era. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the expertly crafted joint bar, a testament to my love for cannabis-inspired accessories (I co-own a chic accessories company for the stylish stoner).
To elevate the sophistication level, we enlisted the help of a professional cannabis event planner who worked wonders with our joint bar – it was truly breathtaking! Meanwhile, our guests had an absolute blast using the customized disposable cameras, capturing unforgettable moments and leaving us with a treasure trove of fantastic photos.
What was the most important lesson you learned from your disco wedding?
The experience of calling off my original wedding plans was a tough one, but looking back, I’m convinced that everything unfolds for a reason. In hindsight, I wouldn’t have wanted our special day to unfold in any other way. It ended up being an unforgettable celebration that I’m grateful we were able to adapt to when circumstances changed.
