In doing so, we stumbled upon a breathtakingly unique venue that has left an indelible mark on our lives. The Evermor Sculpture Park, where we’ve celebrated countless milestones, exudes an otherworldly magic that’s simply impossible to put into words. Fast-tracking our wedding plans, we knew exactly what we wanted from the get-go – a whimsical celebration of love and individuality.

We opted for a frugal approach, repurposing items from dollar stores, friends’ offerings, and existing possessions. The focus wasn’t on extravagant purchases but rather on embracing the quirks that make our relationship special. We issued a simple yet liberating invitation: wear something purple, don a costume, or rock a onesie – anything that makes you feel at ease. And you know what? It was pure bliss!

Guests responded with an outpouring of creative expression, making our day truly unforgettable.

About our Forevertron wedding at the Evermor Sculpture Park ceremony:

In a beautiful ceremony, each of us had penned our own vows, with the officiant hailing from the Church of Dudeism. The unconventional choice added a touch of whimsy to the proceedings, reflecting the unique bond that Jordan and Astarte shared. Astarte’s handwritten promise to her partner began by acknowledging him as the sunshine to her rainbow, bringing an unanticipated happiness into her life.

She credited their shared weirdness, which had first been evident during their unicorn-head and goat-head-adorned appearance at a church ceremony, as the catalyst for their love. With a nod to the infinite possibilities that lay ahead, she vowed to be his partner in every sense, through both the high and low moments of life.

Astarte’s promise was simple yet powerful: to love and cherish Jordan until her last breath, while also supporting his endeavors, nurturing their relationship, and growing together throughout the years. And, as a bonus, she pledged to whip up tasty sauces for all his sandwiches. Her words were infused with admiration for Jordan’s inspiring presence in her life, which encouraged her to be her best self.

In turn, Jordan’s heartfelt vow celebrated Astarte as his haven, his adventure partner, and the one who could calm his stormy emotions with a single touch. He recalled their memorable outing to Dr. Evermor’s, where he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. With a nod to the infinite expanse of time ahead, Jordan promised to honor and cherish every moment they shared together, from now until the very end.

Our wedding reception at Vintage Brewing Company, nestled alongside the Wisconsin River, was a truly unforgettable experience. The delectable cuisine, lively dance floor and pleasant weather – with temperatures reaching almost 70° late in October – all combined to create an atmosphere that allowed our guests to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

The scenic river views provided a picturesque backdrop for loved ones to catch up and reminisce about old times, while some of our older family members even surprised us with their impressive dance moves to the energetic tunes! To make the celebration even more meaningful, we had set up ‘advice for newlyweds’ cards for our guests to share their wisdom.

Reading out the heartfelt responses aloud was undoubtedly a highlight, with many offering wise words like ‘Never Go To Bed Mad’, which resonated deeply with us.

What was the most important lesson you learned from your Forevertron wedding?

Love truly is the mastermind behind the wedding details that we can’t control. Take my own experience, for instance. My dress was a bespoke creation from an online vendor that I had extensively modified with the help of my best friend Alyssa. Similarly, our guests were treated to gourmet popcorn, courtesy of my friend who owns ‘Kernel Popcorn’s Factory’. As for the flowers, I took care of most of them except for the mushroom bouquets, which were graciously purchased by my maid of honor.

Our friend Katie also did an amazing job with the cake, complete with a topper featuring Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. What I love about our wedding is that it was a true reflection of our personalities and style – we didn’t let family pressure dictate what we wanted. It’s all about embracing your quirks and having fun with it! And speaking of which, our venue looked absolutely magical thanks to the dollar store finds that I incorporated into my decor.

The end result was a truly unforgettable celebration that I’ll always treasure.

The fashion and culinary aspects of this celebration are just as impressive as the cultural significance. Astarte’s dress, for instance, was a collaborative effort between JAEDEN and DIY modifications that brought out its unique charm. Meanwhile, Jordan’s cassock was crafted by SFWXCOSGourmet popcorn, which added a delightful touch to the overall atmosphere. The cake, on the other hand, was made with love by our friend Katie, providing a sweet treat for all attendees.
