Our Halloween celebration took on a unique twist as we incorporated gothic elements alongside a dash of humor and a nod to our shared love of hockey. The result was a memorable and unconventional union that blended the spooky and playful.

The intimate ceremony was set to a unique soundtrack featuring iconic tracks from The Smiths, The Cure, and Type O Negative. Adding an extra layer of whimsy, the officiant arrived dressed as a friar, bringing a touch of medieval charm to the proceedings.

As for the ceremony itself, it was a celebration of all things nerdy, with nods to beloved franchises like X-Men, Star Wars, Stardust, The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Lord of the Rings, weaving together a tapestry of geek culture that was truly one-of-a-kind.

As we wrapped up the ceremony, we opted to take a unique approach to solidifying our marriage vows. We entrusted Rob Fiore from The Wedding Tattooer to permanently ink our wedding rings onto our skin, marking the beginning of this new chapter in our lives. As we mingled with guests and savored appetizers, the bridal party made their grand entrance – I, dressed as Cyclops, and my partner, channeling Marvel Girl.

Our first dance was a memorable blend of Bella Morte’s rendition of ‘Earth Angel’ and Volbeat’s take on ‘Only Wanna Be With You.’ With our union representing a love that transcends geographical boundaries, we celebrated with a menu featuring cheesesteaks and wings courtesy of Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, hailing from Philly and Buffalo respectively.

To keep the revelry going, guests enjoyed access to pinball games inspired by Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster, as well as the opportunity to get their own wedding tattoos. As for the soundtrack, we curated a playlist that spanned genres – old school hip hop, Motown classics, industrial beats, and punk rock anthems. The night flew by in a whirlwind of dancing, laughter, and merriment, culminating in a dazzling display of sparklers as we bid farewell to our celebration.
