I must admit that, until recently, the concept of a boudoir photography session left me uncertain. The media’s portrayal of wedding photography had led me to believe that it was exclusively reserved for cis-het skinny white women. However, after stumbling upon an inspiring post about radically inclusive boudoir, I discovered just how misguided my initial perception was.
This incredible lineup of diverse couples and individuals is a testament to the reality that boudoir experiences are truly inclusive. You’ll be amazed by the variety of possibilities on display – from queer couples embracing their sexuality in a boudoir setting to men and mothers reclaiming their own bodies through this empowering art form. My personal experience, which I will never tire of sharing, further solidified my commitment to inclusivity.
After discovering the beauty of inclusive boudoir photography, I felt compelled to find a photographer who shared my values and scheduled a session for my 30th birthday, three years after my wedding. Today, I’m an ardent advocate for inclusive boudoir photography and will continue to spread the word about its transformative power. And let’s be clear: you don’t even need to wear lingerie – the freedom to choose your level of attire is entirely yours.
When should you do a boudoir shoot?
While many people assume that the only time they should consider a boudoir photo studio is when giving a loved one a sensual gift, such as a wedding album, the reality is that you can have a boudoir session at any moment you choose. You don’t necessarily need to be getting married or even in a romantic relationship to experience the benefits of this type of photography.
