It’s been a while since I’ve checked in with you all, but I’m excited to reconnect with the amazing offbeat couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with. As the sun set over Manhattan, I had the privilege of capturing a truly remarkable milestone for two loving gentlemen who’ve shared nearly two decades together. Their love story is deeply rooted in the American immigrant experience, making their union all the more poignant. As we glided past the iconic Statue of Liberty, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of emotion and awe at the power of freedom – a concept that has finally been extended to same-sex couples like these two grooms.

The symbolism was not lost on me as they exchanged their vows, marking a new chapter in their journey together.

You’re in the New York City suburbs, no? Isn’t that practically Canada?

As a travel enthusiast, I’ve developed a strategy to keep my expenses low while exploring new destinations. My rule of thumb is to cap venue fees at $100 for locations more than 100 miles from NYC, plus reimbursement for accommodations and any gas or toll costs I incur. This approach not only helps me save money but also allows me to travel sustainably – I drive a hybrid vehicle, which reduces my carbon footprint.

In fact, I recently had the pleasure of road-tripping with Alicia and Em as they drove in from Brooklyn to marry in an offbeat ceremony. We turned what could have been a long and tedious journey into a fun 11-hour roundtrip adventure!

Behind the lens, I’m invested in my clients’ success and will stop at nothing to ensure their wedding day runs smoothly. Case in point: a unique offbeat wedding I shot back in January, which required some last-minute problem-solving. Just two days prior, I was on the phone with the bride fine-tuning our plan of attack, including tackling her TARDIS cake topper conundrum.
