In a move that added a truly personal and meaningful touch to the wedding festivities, we worked with a skilled tailor to line the inside of each suit jacket with the flags of the countries where our groomsman hail from. While Cape Verdean roots were well-represented, it was wonderful to see every groomsmen’s cultural heritage showcased in this special way – a unique touch that has yet to be matched at another wedding celebration we’ve had the pleasure of attending.
What does a wedding planner include?

Let’s take, for instance, the challenge of coordinating bridesmaids’ outfits. A clever approach is to create a custom palette featuring the bride’s favorite colors, allowing each bridesmaid to choose a dress that harmoniously blends with the others.
This way, the bride can breathe easy knowing her attendants will be dressed to impress without any fuss or stress, all thanks to the wedding planner’s expertise in coordination and communication.
Does a wedding planner deal with guests?
As wedding planners, we’re often called upon to think on our feet and adapt to unexpected changes. One such instance occurred with Cillia’s deal, where a guest list of over 200 RSVPs continued to shift until the last minute. To navigate this chaos, I implemented an innovative solution: instead of providing a traditional seating chart that quickly became outdated, I stationed my team at the entrance with tablets or phones and distributed the updated table plan.
Using search functions, they were able to look up each guest’s name and discreetly inform them of their assigned table. To further streamline the process, I created custom table numbers and place cards, ensuring that guests knew exactly where to sit when they arrived at their designated tables.
Do wedding planners plan the details of your wedding?
In terms of execution, we allowed the bride to dictate the level of detail she desired, spanning a range from subtle touches like color schemes and florals to more substantial elements such as invitations. For this particular wedding, the bride had a strong affinity for fall aesthetics but sought to infuse it with an air of elegance. To achieve this vision, we selected The Farmhouse venue, which provided a clean canvas for our design concepts.
We then crafted a rich, vibrant atmosphere through decor, flowers, and details. A notable aspect of our approach was the meticulous attention to detail, as we personally handled tasks such as hand-cutting cheesecloth napkins, overseeing setup and design, and managing all aspects of decor, floristry, and vendor coordination. Furthermore, we designed and created the wedding invitation from scratch, ensuring that every element was tailored to the couple’s unique preferences.

When life gets busy, as can be the case when one or both partners have demanding careers or are serving in the military, a wedding planner can be the ultimate partner in crime to ensure your special day runs smoothly.
